Romantic Getaway

Day 1 – Historic Downtown
Life Magazine calls Pacific Grove the “Most romantic city in the U.S.” and you are about to see why. Start your trip with a leisurely walk through Pacific Grove’s historic downtown with buildings dating back to the early 1900s and enjoy the unique ambience of one of the last hometowns. Sample the boutiques and other shops, art galleries and unusual stores that combine to give the town its special flavor. But don’t hurry. Like fine wine, it is to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

Day 2 – Monterey Bay Aquarium Romance Tour
Walk through at your own pace or book a Romance Tour for a more personalized experience. The Aquarium will work with you to create the perfect tour for you whether you’re ready to propose or just want to enjoy a nice, romantic tour of the exhibits on your honeymoon, anniversary, or special getaway.

Day 3 – Wine Tasting
Enjoy a day of sensational wines with Ag Venture Tours & Consulting, the local specialist in wine tasting, sightseeing and agricultural education tours of the Monterey Bay region. Wine tasting tours visit either the Monterey Wine Country (Salinas Valley, Carmel Valley) or the Santa Cruz Mountains. Sightseeing tours include the Monterey Peninsula (Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, Carmel) or Big Sur. Agricultural education tours feature the world famous Salinas Valley. Tours can be customized to your interests, offering both half and full day excursions. All of the guides are friendly and knowledgeable with extensive backgrounds in the agriculture and wine industries.

Day 4 – Whale Watching
Experience the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary with a whale watching trip. Tours are generally 2-3 hours long and run year round. No matter the season, whales and dolphins are frequently seen in the Monterey Bay including Gray, Blue, Humpback, and Killer whales as well as Risso’s, Pacific White-Sided, Northern Right Whale, Dall’s Porpoise and Common dolphins.

Day 5 – Ocean View Stroll
The spectacular rocky coastline of Pacific Grove is one of the most scenic sights of the Monterey Peninsula. Visitors are treated to unobstructed views of the pounding surf and magnificent combination of trees, rocks, ocean and shoreline. The best way to enjoy the sights is to stroll along the recreational trail that extends for one mile between the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium and the uncommonly beautiful Lovers Point, which is aptly named since it is a popular spot for outdoor weddings.

Fine Dining
Within the city of Pacific Grove can be found a variety of superb, award-winning restaurants, some tucked away in hidden corners of the city, some in stately Victorians, and others clinging to the coast with unparalled views of the ever-changing Monterey Bay. There are more than 60 restaurants representing dozens of cuisines featuring a bounty of fresh seafood and produce from the Monterey Bay and Salinas Valley, as well as many fine regional California and imported wines. If you prefer the rich roasted aromas of coffee shops, the simple cuisine of the beachside vendor, or a breakfast from heaven, let Pacific Grove be your host.
