Day 1 – Explore the Coast
Adventures By The Sea is your one-stop-shop for rentals on the Monterey Peninsula. With five locations and several tour offerings, there are endless possibilities to make your trip unforgettable. Start with a bike or surrey ride along the beautiful coastal recreation trail that stretches for one mile between the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the beautiful Lovers Point. Along the way, don’t forget to stop at Lovers Point Beach, Cannery Row, and Fisherman’s Wharf.

Day 2 – Whale Watching/Fishing
Experience the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary with a whale watching or fishing trip. Monterey Bay is one of the only places where whales can be seen year-round so keep your eyes on the water and your camera ready. If fishing is more your speed, there are daily fishing trips for cod, salmon, and albacore starting as early as 6:00am.

Day 3 – Surf’s Up
The bay in the morning is a beautiful thing and the best way to experience it is to be on it. Asilomar State Beach is perfect for surfers of all skill levels. Spend a day on the waves and maybe make friends with a dolphin or two. For non-surfers, Adventures By The Sea also rents paddle boards and kayaks and offers tours daily.

Day 4 – Segway Tour
If you’re looking for a new type of adventure, the Segway i2 personal transporter is a great way to see the Monterey Peninsula. The self-balancing Segway is easy to ride and fun for any age. Join an expert guide from Segway Tours Monterey on a historical, recreational trail, or 17-Mile Drive tour.

Day 5 – Natural History Museum and Butterfly Sanctuary
Get in touch with nature today by visiting the Museum of Natural History or the Butterfly Sanctuary. The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, at the corner of Central and Forest avenues, is celebrated as an outstanding small museum that displays high-grade exhibits about the native plants, animals, geology and aboriginal populations of Monterey County, in addition to a wide variety of special exhibits. And it’s all free. Also free is the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary located just off of Lighthouse Avenue. With thousands of Monarchs here between November and February, the Sanctuary is a must see!

Mix It Up
The types of food are like the many stars in the sky, and like the stars, no two dining choices are alike. Not only do the foods differ widely, but so do the atmospheres. It could be a dinning room with a view of passers-by or no view. Seating outside for pet-friendly dining or inside amid elegant, rustic, comfortable or simply unusual settings. Keep the adventure alive and try a different restaurant every night.
