Pacific Grove’s 50th Annual Good Old Days

The 50th annual Good Old Days will prove to be a milestone year. Good Old Days continues to be the largest music and arts festival in the Tri County area offering six entertainment venues and over 230 food and craft vendors. The event takes place April 21 and 22, 2007, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in Downtown Pacific Grove. It is always free.

The event kicks off with the Good Old Days parade along Pine Ave. beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by carnival rides, miniature golf, police and firefighter competitions and over 320 entertainers performing throughout the event. New additions this year are Shinsho –Mugen Daiko drumming, children’s songwriter Nancy Raven, Singing Wood Marimba Centre, the McKenzian Theater and James Murdoch the musical clown. You’ll also find many of the returning champions Cachagua Playboys, Chicano Allstars, John “Broadway” Tucker and Red Beans and Rice just to name a few.

In addition to 30 other special events throughout the weekend, Shall We Dance will host a Dance Showcase involving many varieties of dance as well as two dance competitions that are opened to the public.

Good Old Days is proud to join the city of Pacific Grove in their Trees For PG campaign. Because the event falls on Earth Day, Good Old Days will be passing out free trees as part of an Earth Day Demonstration in Jewell Park. The park will have music, live sculptor art, activities for the kids and a number of exhibits sponsored by Sustainable PG. Good Old Days will also be a Carbon Neutral event, leading the fight against Global Warming.

This event is sponsored by the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce. For more information regarding events please refer to www.pacificgrove.org  , or contact, Moe Ammar, (831) 373-3304, President, PG Chamber, moeammar@pacificgrove.org.
